The  English Department Of Rah-e-Roshd Educational Complex

 The  English  Department  of   Rah-e-Roshd   Educational   Complex    
has  a  staff  of  45   English teachers, TAs ,  coordinators  ,  and  supervisors
which  is  the  greatest  number  of  staff  among  other  schools in the capital
and country . The  English  Department  covers  more  than  950  students at   
the  Girls   Elementary  School   ,  Boys    Elementary   School ,    and   Girls
Junior and Senior High School  .  Additionally,   the    English   Department
holds  the   record  in  Iran  for  having  the   most  number  of  classes   held
during     five   days    of     the     week   (  from Saturday   to   Wednesday )
simultaneously    both    at    Elementary   and    Junior   and   Senior  High
Schools  ( 31  classes   at   Elementary  Schools    and   18  classes  at  Junior 
and  Senior   High  Schools ) .

The   English   Department   also  has   the   most   stringent   and   rigorous 
recruitment     procedures ,   TTC    and   OJT  programs ,   syllabi   design,
class   observation   and   auditing  programs,  placement  tests,  and  finally
test  data   analyses   and   report   cards   in   Iran .  The   Department   also
provides   the   most   versatile  and   complete   gamut   of    levels   both  at
elementary  and   junior  and  high  schools  which  is  unique in  its  kind in
the    Iran   .  At     Elementary    Schools   the    levels    range    from    zero
beginners  (  literacy   program  )  to  Cambridge  University  PET  levels .

Moreover ,    it    is   noteworthy    that   in    June   2007 ,   nine  elementary
Students   aged   ten  and  eleven  passed  the  Cambridge   University   PET
with   flying   colors   at   the   british   Council  .

At   Junior   and  Senior   High  School  there  is  a  broad  spectrum  of  levels
ranging   from  zero  beginners   levels  to  SAT  and  GRE   levels  which  is
One  of  a  kind  even  in  the  world  for  students  aged  12  to  16  to  achieve such   high   standards  of   education  in  the  English  language  and  to  be capable    of   passing   SAT  and  GRE,  although   they  are   learning  and acquiring   the   English   language   in  foreign  language  environment  and as  a  foreign   language  and  not  as  their  main  subject  at  school  but  as  an   extracurricular   activity  that   occupies   their   last  hour  of  education at  school .

Accordingly,   the    English  Department    of    Rah-e-Roshd    Educational
Complex  has  held  two  spelling  bee  competitions  in  April  of  2007  and
2008    and   one   General   Knowledge   Competition  in   April  2008  with
native - like   standards   which   is   unparalleled   at   least    in  Asia .  The
Source    of   the   spelling    bee   competitions    were   Merriam   Webster’s
Unabridged    and   11th    Collegiate     Dictionaries   and   source    of    the
general   knowledge  competition  was  “ Who  Wants  To Be  A  Millionaire
Game    Pad    Questions    and    Answers   2005  ”  ,  “  Double    Jeopardy
Questions   and   Answer   2005 ”  ,  “ World   Alamanc   for  Kids  2008 ”  ,
“ Scholastic   Book   of   Records   2008 ” , “ Guinness   Book   of    Records
2008  ” , “   Scholastic  Book  of  Records  Ultimate  Quiz   Challenge  2008 ” ,
“Encarta   Encyclopedia  2008 ” , “ Britannica   Encyclopedia  2008 ” , and
“ Science   Quiz   Book  2006 ” .
Furthermore ,  all   49   English   classes    are    equipped   with   TVs   and
multipurpose   DVD  players  and  tape  recorders  which  no  other  English
Institutes   or   schools   posses .
